Ridiculous! I'm pretty much boycotting Barnes&Noble! Today I went online to find 4 books that I wanted to buy. I had a gift card so I thought this was a good opportunity to get to use it up and without ever picking my bottom off the chair I am sitting at now.
I was very excited to find all the books I wanted used and for under $7! I was thinking,"WHAT A STEAL, MAN!" I was buying three books for $2(two for me, one as a favor to my friend), one for $3, and the last for about $6. I was so stoked. The total said that without shipping and handling it was $15. That was perfect for using my $20 gift card and still having enough to pay for shipping and handling. SO I THOUGHT! Then, I went to check out and it came out to $35! That was quiet a change from it being around $20 and it telling me my shipping would only be $4 numerous times while finishing!
The whole thing is a scam! They made it seem like you are getting such a great deal but really, thats total bull my friend. If on my $6 book I wanted to pay $11, I would save myself the 4-14 day wait and go in to B&N and buy it for $12 new!
Two of my books were coming from the exact same vendor, so why was I paying $8 for shipping on those instead of $4? It doesn't cost $8 to send two, 100 page books by mail. Ri-friggin-diculous.
I didn't want to pay from my pocket, so I canceled on of my $2 books and the $6 book. My books then cost $7. With shipping and handling it came out to $19.85. $20 for 3 used books who's condition I haven't even seen yet. Yippe. I'm really feeling the saving. Thanks so much for the awesome deal, B&N. From now on, I will just go to a used book store and pay $5 a piece for each book, rather then cushion the nest of those greedy, deceiving, corporate low-lives over at B&N.
That was the last time I will buy from B&N for a long, LOOONNNG time.
